I heard that my family and I were going on a cruise in Miami, Florida for Christmas! It said that there was a pool, a water park, a laser tag arena, and more. I was so happy and excited to go on this trip. On our first day, we packed our bags and hit the road from Charlotte to Miami. We saw a lot of palm trees swaying back and forth, as well as a cool blue Mustang along the way. Eventually, we reached a hotel in Daytona, set down our suitcases, and went to an Indian restaurant for dinner.
On the second day, we packed up and drove to Miami, where we finally saw the big cruise ship. First, we checked our COVID tests to see if we were positive or negative. Thankfully, we were all negative! We boarded the cruise, put our bags in our rooms, ate at a restaurant on board, and watched TV while resting up for our first stop: the Bahamas.
When morning came, we heard a bell and took tender boats to the island. There, we visited a large beach where we saw a lot of seagulls, hermit crabs, and even one big swordfish! Once we were finished, we headed back to the ship for lunch and rested up for our next destination, the British Virgin Islands.
At the British Islands, we went to a beach and I’m not joking—we saw two dolphins! Afterward, we ate chicken burgers, headed to another beach where we listened to Jamaican songs, and got a souvenir bracelet. Later that night, we went back to the ship, watched The Grinch on TV, and went to sleep.
When we woke up, it was a rainy day in the Dominican Republic. The city looked really alive and vibrant and we ate in one the restraunts there for breakfast. There, we saw a cool lagoon hidden inside a cave, along with tropical trees and there we saw a actual cuckootoo. I even got a lizard pencil before we boarded the cruise ship one last time to head back to Miami and drive home to Charlotte.
